The Story~

Syd and Sam are having a destination wedding in Napa Valley, California. They know not everyone they will invite will be able to travel to be there, yet they want everyone on their list to feel included. A boxilocks mailer that lets all their friends and family connect with their wedding preparations and get excited for this wine country union, whether or not they can attend, was just the thing.

Unlike a "typical" story card, if there is such a thing, their enclosure card with dicut corners in the shape of a "ticket" pointed recipients toward the future date. On the other side was a QR code dedicated to their wedding details and preparations. Guests could RSVP there to stay in the loop, and it was also a place for their celebration story to unfold in real time.

They wanted everything inside the Boxilocks box to point toward their destination... so...

The Box

Their Boxilocks box has their image, a fun, informal and romantic pic that was somewhere between engagement photoshoot and a "just us being us" capture. They also loved a pattern of welcoming words wrapping around the sides and back, and their wedding date on the inside front when opened. Their wine-inspired wedding colors of "Pinot Noir, Rose, and Chardonnay" are reflected throughout the printed elements.

Their box contents included:

Story Card that points toward their wedding website
Wine-pairing chocolate square trio from Napa Chocolatier Le Belge. Alternate for warm-weather mailing would have been biscotti.
Wine Tasting Journal that attendees would bring to the wedding weekend to take advantage of winery visits; those not in attendance would think of the couple whenever they marked a guided tasting not entry!
Wine-scented soap made by a Napa company, with scents in a variety of varietals!
Wine bottle stopper that allows recipients to keep an open bottle fresh and drinkable

The Response

This was a case-study sample box, so recipients were fictitious. But if Syd and Sam DID exist, we are certain this Save-The-Date mailer box would have hit ALL the right notes!
