Chase & Aaron's Wedding Invitation Box

The Story~

Chase and Aaron fell in love hiking in the many beautiful and breathtaking areas of Arizona. They knew they wanted to have their wedding there, at The Paseo; and they wanted their wedding invitation to be very unique, playful and joyful. Their idea transcended the traditional double-enveloped mailed invitation... but they didn't want an email with a link to a website, either. They wanted it to be special, meaningful, and participatory.

They wanted everything inside the Boxilocks box to bring not only the invitation to their friends and family, but also to connect them with the southwest feel and build anticipation for traveling there for the wedding.

The Box

Their Boxilocks box features a picture of them from their engagement shoot, as does the Story Card which in this case is a more formal, enveloped and custom-stickered invitation that also lists their wedding email for RSVPs. The bottom of the box has the word "Love;" the colors are soft neutrals that remind you of desert sand.

Their box contents included:

  • Story Card invitation in an envelope, with a personalized sticker closure

  • Two churro mini chocolate bars

  • One of a variety of desert-scented soaps, made in Arizona

  • Upcycled wooden hearts, each unique. Recipients were instructed once they had RSVP'd to sign the backs of the hearts, and bring them to the wedding to form a unique "guest book" of wooden hearts for the couple; they would receive a favor heart to take home.

  • Keepsake pottery "chanchitos", or 3-legged pig, a token of good fortune, goodwill, and love.

The Response

This was a case-study sample box, so couple and recipients were fictitious. Suffice it to say, no one has received a wedding invitation like this~ what a special way to extend a warm and personal welcome your guests to attend your wedding day!
