The Story

The Mendoza's have a little boy, Aiden, and a cat... and a baby on the way. Most of their people know that they are expecting, but not the gender of the new addition to the family. They decided they wanted to share the gender reveal in a new and creative fun way, with friends and family near and far... along with the story of what was going on in their household as they readied for this arrival of the newest member.

The Box

Along with an anticipatory image, the box designed for them had alllllll the warnings and teasers ~ "No Peeking, Team Girl or Team Boy?" and the like. And a VERY specific date and time to open - or at least, to open after. (We'd plan to send in advance enough to accommodate the farthest destination in terms of ground shipping, plus a few safety days to hopefully cover any delays.) It included something they hoped people would do - a suggestion on the outside of one of the box sides to film themselves opening it and their reaction to learning who they were welcoming!

Their box contents included:

Story Card that announces the gender and tells the story of how they are feeling
Custom decorated sugar cookie, individually heat sealed, that tells the gender story in a delicious way
Small stuffed teddy bear that makes recipients think of the upcoming fun (and bears also featured in the story card) and can be a Christmas ornament, etc.
Travel Baby Powder ~ that favorite soft scent that instantly calls to mind new babies
Anytime Photo Ornament that featured a pic of the baby bump on one side, and a "princess" graphic on the back.

The Response

This was a case-study sample box, so recipients were fictitious ~ imagine how much fun this box would be to receive, and to feel a part of this family's momentous occasion!
