The Story
Adele has been through it, the past year, and come out the other side. She endured a nasty divorce, and virtually every aspect of her life changing because of it. She had to give up a lot to gain her freedom, and it took its toll in body, mind and spirit.
As she came out the other side, and found her footing, she also found her voice, her strength, her original name, a new city, a new career, and a lot of pride in her scars and her spirit in overcoming it all. As a way of announcing what she now viewed as a transformation rather than a tragedy~ and wanting to reveal this to her family and friends in that context~ she wanted a Reclaiming My Life box.
The Box
Adele found profound significance in changing her name back to the name she was born with, and to the roots of her identity; and though no one can predict the future, she knows that whatever her future holds, she is not changing it again. She wanted a box that reflected that, in bold fonts and colors that felt akin to the fire of a phoenix.
The box is an all-type solution, and hints at change. On the inside front side, it proudly states her new- original- name.
Her box contents included:
Story Card that features her message of what she has been through, and where she has landed.
Shower fizz steamer packet (from a collection of like-feeling sentiments and scents) Adele feels rather spicy about her experience, and she doesn't shy away from that. Recipients can experience the calm and peace she now feels, with a nod to life having challenges that require some soothing showers. LOTS of them.
Pair of empowering socks ~ we found boldly colorful socks made from a collage tapestry featuring a pattern of strong women and words that are meaningful to her, which she loved, and wanted to share. She took "finding her footing" from our Story Meeting as a meaningful phrase, so she liked clothing her tribe's feet as part of it.
Set of 60 "Inner F*cking Peace" cards that inspire laughter, contemplation, and action
"Inner Fire Goddess" totem that she felt the women who received the box could use as recognition and inspiration of their own strength, hung on a necklace chain, tacked on a garden post or a bulletin board.
The Response
This was a case-study sample box, so recipients were fictitious. However, I have some friends who could relate to Adele's situation in life, and they felt it would be a f*cking fabulous way to re-introduce the reclamation of their life going forward.
